Concept of Centrifugal
Separation |
| Claude Laval Corporation has been
designing, manufacturing, and marketing Lakos
centrifugal separators since the 1940's. Early
separators were designed to remove rocks and stones
from well water before being pumped into irrigation
systems. Over the years, centrifugal separators have
evolved and are now regularly used for automatic
removal of dirt and debris from cooling tower and
chilled water systems to reduce the potential for
fouling.
The concept of centrifugal separation is somewhat
elementary which partially explains why Lakos
separators have many imitators claiming to be
"just like Lakos". Independent testing and
simple side-by-side comparison of construction
features explain why Lakos separators are in a class
by themselves.
